Notes sent from New Zealand by Mr T. H. Potts of Ohinetahi. [Christchurch].

Potts describes a feast held at Hikurangi on 8 May 1879 as part of the great meeting of Kingite Māori, convened by Tawhaio to meet Sir George Grey and the Hon. Native Minister. Among the foods offered were "pohua" (pohue), sowthistle, para, mamaku, fernroot, tawa berries, Jew"s ear fungus.

Section on finding moa remains. Description of the pahu (drum).
